This garment was created for Norwich Castle Museum's exhibition, 'Inheritance'. It was part
of a body of work about the artist's parents,
and the house and garden where she spent
her childhood. Medlik's father arrived in the UK as a refugee. The nightie (a unique design created by her mother, which she wore throughout her life) depicts the lives and interests of her parents, including diary and repatriation documents from 1948 when her father arrived, the keys to the houses and suitcases he owned, the plans, plants and maps of the house, and her mother's recipes
